It Could Be Different
Well, my brother is back in Chicago. We had a nice visit with him over the weekend and had a family BBQ on Sunday. He’s quite the traveler. He works construction in the Chicago area, and everyone knows construction slows down with the ice, snow and cold. He’s going to Las Vegas, Nevada later in the week to visit my next oldest brother.
I’ve never been to ‘Vegas, but hope to be able to go there some day before I leave this earth! It would be nice to be able to visit my brother Rob there and his family. Nevada looks like a beautiful place to visit. I’ve seen many pictures that he’s sent me over the years and photos that my mom took when she went out to visit him.
With the miracle and convenience of the world wide web, I like to pull up the news from different places in the U.S. where my family lives or where I’ve lived in the past. It’s such a luxury to be able to do this. I remember the days of having to go to the library. I was just reading about a man that threatened to kill himself in a Nevada hospital. He had a gun on him that he refused to let go of and ended up pointing it in the direction of the police!
Naturally, the police did what they had to do in that situation, and ended up having to fire at him. Now I know it’s hard to think of this, but what if you were in that hospital. Perhaps visiting someone close, perhaps you worked there, whatever, and this man shows up with a gun as this one I’m telling you about just did? What would you do? Ok, maybe you don’t have a license to carry a gun. In a situation like this, if you had a TASER on you such as the C2 TASER or the M-18 TASER, you would have been able to take this man down before he could harm himself, yourself, or anyone else around you before the police even got there. The people at the hospital were very lucky that nothing bad happened before the police even arrived on scene. Things would have been different if someone there had been able to stop him with a TASER and get the gun away from him before police arrived. This man would still be alive and may have gotten help and medication for his depression. His family wouldn’t be at a loss right now.
Keep in mind, these things are happening all around us. Take a step to be prepared.
