Luckily Lunch, Not Life, Stolen At Gunpoint!

There were two incidences in Tampa yesterday, Tues. Dec. 16th.  A man was pumping gas, and a vehicle pulled up next to his,  someone jumped out of the passenger side, and held up the gentleman pumping gas at gun point!  The man handed over his wallet, and the assailant took off.

A few minutes later, a woman was walking in a grocery store parking lot, when the same thing happened.  A man jumps out of a car that pulls up next to her, points a gun at her, grabs her bag and fled off.

It turned out, the bag he took from her was her lunch bag!  It only contained her lunch and a water bottle.  These two crimes happened within minutes of each other.  Luckily nobody was shot during them, but who’s to say the next might not be a tragedy!

The man routinely putting gas into his car didn’t know he was going to have his wallet stolen when he woke up that day!  The thought never crossed his mind.  Nor did the woman who had her lunch taken from her envision that she was going to have a gun pointed at her!  We go about our every day lives not thinking that these things are going to happen to us, but unfortunately they do.  We can only hope to be as lucky as these two were.

For some reason, many people envision that there are only certain people that get attacked.  They belong to a group of hand picked victims that the universe has chosen to be attacked and robbed, and everyone else is safe, therefore it will never happen to them, they have this invisible bubble around them, and therefore they’re safe. Wake up and smell the coffee!  You’re human, you’re not in an invisible safety bubble…these things can and just may happen to you!
