Take Care Of Yourself!
My husband and I have finally started walking after dinner again. We used to do this years ago, but time has just been passing us by. We’ve been going to a weight management class that has been teaching us how to eat properly to lose weight as well. We learned that some diets may work, but when you’re feeling as if you’re in “diet prison”, then when you stop doing that diet, you can quickly put all the weight you lost back on. That made sense.
We learned that your body can only burn off a certain amount of calories per day. As long as you stay under that certain amount of calories, you will be able to lose. Therefore, if you make low calorie choices in your day, and write down what you are eating, you will be able to keep track of how many calories you’re consuming, and in turn lose weight. You’d be surprised how much less you will eat by doing so! So far so good as I’ve lost 5 pounds and my husband’s lost 10. Yes, it’s easier for men to lose weight faster than women. We also learned that you don’t have to stop eating your favorite foods, just eat them in smaller portions and in moderation! I have been trying to stay under 1,200 calories per day and he’s been staying under 1,500 per day. You can go to the government’s website to check where you should be.
I’ve learned to add pepper or parsley to veggies to make them more edible. I’ll even sprinkle some light parmesan on them. I even found some cheddar cheese sprinkles in the popcorn section that makes a world of difference on them. Yes, I’ve always heard that nuts are high in fat, however it’s a good type of fat, and if you eat a small handful as a snack, they will help you feel fuller longer!
We also started going to the recreation center three days per week. When we don’t do that, as I mentioned earlier, we will take walks after dinner. We have what is called a “pedometer” that we clip onto our waist that counts the number of steps we take and how many calories we burn during that walk. We also have our “Mace Pepper Spray Hot Walker Walking Weights” in hand as you just never know in this day and age who may try to rob you when they feel you’re defenseless. They are 1pound walking weights that nobody would ever assume they pack a powerful punch of pepper spray! Hopefully I’ve helped to motivate you today to do some good things for yourself and those you love. Take care of yourself!
