When It’s Not Night Night Time!

Yes, there are kids running about throughout the week days in my neighborhood as that’s a sure sign that school is out for summer!  We used to take road trips to visit family during my summer vacation as many families do.  We lived in Missouri, and we’d “get out of dodge” in “old Betsy” as my father would always say. My grandparents, brother, aunts, uncles and cousins all lived outside of Chicago, and my other brother was stationed in Ft. Campbell Kentucky.  It was pretty neat seeing the St. Louis Arch and the oil pumps at work.  It’s always a good idea to have some type of personal protection product in your car or on you such as a multi function stun gun when doing a road trip and stopping in strange areas.

“Old Betsy” was a baby blue 1980 Chevy Malibu which was my dad’s pride and joy until one summer when we had taken a trip to Germany to visit my mom’s only living relative, my Uncle Gerhard, and left my grown up brother (who doesn’t drive) home alone.  My father used to hand wash this car every weekend.

My brother who lived in Ft. Campbell had made a surprise visit to spend some time with his oldest brother while we were gone.  When we had returned from our trip, we were so jet lagged, that we didn’t go anywhere until late the next day.  We had a garage that was detached from our house, and when my father went out there to get the car out of “storage” he about died!  There was a HUGE dent in the driver’s side door!  This car was less than two years old.  My brothers were questioned as to what had happened to his car, and to this very day, we still do not know who did it or what on earth happened to it!  After that, my father was so upset, he DUCT taped the door guard on with silver duct tape, and refused to ever even wash it!  I used to take it upon myself to wash it after that incident, but was still embarrassed to be seen in that car!  He refused to have that car fixed until he was told what had happened to it.  That car never got fixed!  That car was in our family and looked like that for 15 years.

For all we know, they could have taken a road trip themselves and one of them could have fallen asleep at the wheel!  We were lucky they were both still alive.  Most of us have had an urge to close our eyes at some point in our lives when we have been behind the wheel.  There is now a brilliant and very affordable product called the nap alarm that will sound an alarm should your head fall forward as it has an electronic positioning sensor.  This is a must have if you drive long distances, and makes a great life saving gift for your loved ones and those hard to shop for individuals. It’s also perfect for people who need to be fully alert while on duty, for example, security guards, machine operators and even students while studying or where concentration is required.  Be sure to check it out today!
