Shot With Their Own Gun

I finally put up our Christmas tree today. Living in Florida, I do miss seeing snow, so I bought some lighted snow puffs to put on our tree. I like sleeping on the couch by the Christmas tree at night every other night or so. I also like to unwind with a good movie.

I have been trying to catch the holiday specials on my DVR. One of my all time favorite Christmas movies was called “One Magic Christmas”. It’s about this poor family just struggling to get by. It’s a mother, father, a little girl about 5 and a little boy about 7 years old. The mother had lost her faith in Christmas and was rather scrooge like about the holiday. The father had pulled up to the bank one day and was just stopping in for a minute, so he left the kids in the car.

While he was in the bank, it gets robbed. The father tried to stop the robbery and in turn gets shot and killed. The robbers fled off in his car with the kids inside. The story keeps you at the edge of your seat, and for those of you who haven’t seen it yet, that’s all I’m going to tell you about it. It is a Christmas movie so you know it all ends up good at the end.

Bank robberies have become an unfortunate reality given the recession we are in. A bank was just robbed here in Tampa this week. Luckily nobody was hurt or killed, but they can count their lucky stars. He held 3 people at gunpoint while the teller filled a bag with cash. He then fled from the scene.

Now what if you were in a bank where someone had a gun? Believe it or not, there is an instructional video called “Knife and Gun Disarmament and Weapons Retention” that teaches you how to disarm someone should you be faced with a gun. Did you know that 75% of all cops who are shot in the line of duty…are shot with their OWN GUN! That means criminals are wrestling guns away from cops and shooting them.

This would also make a unique gift for that hard to shop for person in your life! By you or them having this video, you could have made the news as a local hero!
