Be In The Know

I awoke to the sound of rain, thunder and lightning today. Along with my dog barking at it, and my cat snuggled up next to me. I ran my errands in the pouring rain. Luckily the last time we got new tires on our car, we got the kind that is best for the rain. It seems as though many don’t take precautions when it’s raining out as you always see accidents here in the rainy Florida weather. The roadways get very slick with all the oil buildup getting wet.

I had been in a little one myself when it was raining once. There was a bus in front of me, and someone was so close to my bumper, I could hardly even see her headlights. I just knew that when that bus slowed down for it’s next stop I was toast. Sure enough, I got rear ended even though I slowed down easily. Ironically that was the first and the last time my husband cooked dinner for me as a surprise!

I had forgotten my cell phone that day since I live by Murphy’s Law, and had to walk to a little neighborhood food mart in a very bad part of town. That was a scary moment in my life! I was able to use the phone, and make it back to my car safely. I was armed with my key chain pepper spray just in case! Luckily I was uninjured, except for the fact I had experienced my first pinched nerves in my neck a few times a few weeks later. The kind where you wake up, and it hurts to move your head, and you can’t get out of bed.

When you’re shopping for new tires, always make sure you check the code on the side of the tires to see when they were manufactured as some places have been known to sell old tires. I never stopped to think about that when purchasing tires until I met someone who sells them! Here is a great link to check out to make sure you’re in the know.
