Prevent Pizza Abuse!

I went out onto my back patio today to water my plants. I have to admit, I haven’t been out back to water them in a while. Low and behold, my Christmas cactus is in full bloom with hot pink flowers all over it! I was so excited that it survived my deserted care (no pun intended hehe)! It amazes me how these plants always seem to bloom. Being the inquisitive person that I am, of course I had to research this beautiful plant. To my amazement, I found out that Cacti are believed to have evolved in the last 30 to 40 million years ago!

There I go again…wandering off from cacti to click on a pizza link. I must be getting hungry! As I read on, I find out that pizza was first made in the 18th century, and “pizza” is the name of a small village outside of Naples, Italy! I always wondered why my favorite one, the “Margherita” was named as such. It turns out that pizza was a peasant’s food.

In 1889, Queen Margherita ordered one of her guards to bring her one of the pizza breads that she saw many people eating one day when she was inspecting her kingdom. Naturally, since it was so good, yet a peasant’s food, she had a special pizza chef summoned to her palace. He decided to make a special one just for her as she was loved by many. He used ingredients to represent the colors of the Italian flag (red, white and green).

Very, very interesting! Now I must admit, I’m a sucker for pizza as many in the U.S. are. I read that Americans eat around 350 slices of pizza each second. 3 billion pizzas are sold in America each year, and it’s a $30 billion industry. Let me ask you this…have you ever heard of it used as a weapon? Now, there are products you can keep on you to prevent pizza abuse if you are a delivery driver! This past Saturday, December 13th, a pizza delivery driver in South Florida had a gun pulled on him. He didn’t have any protection on him, therefore he threw the pizza at him! A shot was fired as he fled, but luckily the driver wasn’t injured.

There are many life saving products, and we have devised an all in one delivery person kit.
